Wihuri makes the leap to HR Cloud

For the first time Wihuri has the possibility to view and report its global employee and organizational data with the SAP SuccessFactors solution implemented by Gavdi Finland 

The implementation project is part of the Wihuri HR transformation process, where different countries and HR business units utilize a global HR system with harmonized procedures. According to CIO Juha-Matti Heino, Wihuri had carefully analyzed what IT technologies could be implemented and which ones were agile enough to meet their business demands: “The benefit of working in a privately-owned company is the minimal bureaucracy. When we recognize a good opportunity, we have the ability to make business decisions fast.
The managing director of Gavdi Finland, Tuomo Ropponen emphasizes that SAP SuccessFactors cloud system requires a new way of thinking: “In the past systems were customized to meet company processes, but nowadays processes are adjusted to meet system standards.” Having said that, SAP SuccessFactors is a truly user-friendly solution. For example, SAP SuccessFactors features are based on the best practices of more than 6.600 companies and 120 million business users globally.

In addition, this kind of SaaS solution can be implemented rapidly. “The solution was implemented in seven months and the business was able to test the system, after only four weeks, once the project had started”, said project manager Petteri Salomaa from Gavdi Finland.

Wihuri has just implemented the SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central module to manage the whole employee life-cycle process from hire to retire. The current solution provides a strong foundation for future HR solution development.

Next Spring, we will implement the SAP SuccessFactors Time-off solution covering Absence Management. This solution ensures our time management processes will be substantially more effective”, highlights HR Director Kata Aarnio-Wihuri from Wihuri Technical Trade.

Wihuri is also planning to implement a company-wide SAP SuccessFactors competence management solution, enabling employees to maintain their own competences and skills.
At this phase we believe the system will genuinely benefit not only employees themselves, but also Wihuri as a whole”, summarizes Aarnio-Wihuri and Heino.
